In the spirit of the Holy Week, the Free State Symphony Orchestra (FSSO) will present a concert in the Anglican Cathedral, St. Georges Street on Friday 25 March (Good Friday). The programme will consist of the Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068 (JS Bach) (including the famous Air on a G-string), Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043 (JS Bach) and Buxtehude’s stirringly beautiful Membra Jesu nostri (The Limbs of our Jesus, a cycle of seven cantatas about the suffering of Jesus on the cross).

Samson Diamond and Sharon de Kock are the two violin soloists and the Buxtehude will be performed by the OSM Vocal Consort. Alexander Fokkens will be on the podium. This concert is made possible by a grant from the National Lotteries Commission (NLC).

The concert is presented free of charge and it not necessary to book.
